El objetivo del Nokia Morph es "ilustrar cómo un dispositivo portátil personal puede conectar al usuario con la información oculta en el mundo físico y, al mismo tiempo, a la masa global de datos, la información y los contenidos digitales a través de Internet".
El dispositivo, creado por por el Nokia Research Center (NRC) en colaboración con el Cambridge Nanoscience Centre (Reino Unido), está compuesto por dos unidades separadas: una de comunicación y una de detección. "La unidad de comunicación opera en tres modos: como un auricular de clip o un clip en su ropa; como un dispositivo para conferencias, o como un móvil de mano. La unidad de detección también operar en tres modos: como una pantalla flexible separada que puede ser utilizada como un teclado; como un sensor para llevar puesto; o como un sensor separado que puede ser integrado a otros dispositivos".
